Two Fuerteventura Beaches in Tripadvisor’s Top 5
El Cotillo Beach and Lagoons received 2nd place amongst Spain’s beaches in Tripadvisor’s 2016 Travellers’ Choice Awards behind Playa de Ses Illetes in Formentera (Balearic Islands). Playa de Cofete in the south of Fuerteventura earned 4th place – which seems a little odd given that it is unsafe to swim there, though there is no disputing its rugged unspoilt beauty.
British and German Police to patrol Caleta de Fuste and Morro Jable
A month-long Pilot program this summer will have a British Policeman patrol in Caleta de Fuste and a German Policeman in Morro Jable. If successful, it is envisaged that the program could be made permanent with foreign police working in conjunction with the Guardia Civil. Similar programs operate in busy tourist areas of Thailand.
