There are two theme park attractions in Fuerteventura: Acua Water Park in Corralejo and Oasis Park near La Lajita.
Acua Water Park
Formerly the Baku Water Park, this is the only water park in Fuerteventura and a great day out for families. With a wave pool, numerous slides, jacuzzis, a lazy river, and childrens pool area, there is plenty to you entertained. The children’s club offers face painting, balloon art and other activities away from the water and is a good option if you want to stay away from the midday sun.
There are sunbathing areas, with free sunbeds, changing areas, a pool snack bar and self service food area, both of which are reasonably priced. Lockers are provided, however there is a small charge.
A water filled fun day out for all the family.
Check with your hotel, as some offer free park entrance, included in your hotel booking.
What started as an ornamental plant nursery in 1985 has grown into a huge interactive animal park with its own research centre, boasting over 3000 animals with 250 different species and the largest camel reserve in Europe.
Oasis Park has a strong emphasis on conservation, education and research and is currently part of 17 programmes including the captive breeding program for the Cuvier’s gazelle, the development of wetland areas for migrating birds and the conservation program for the Majorero Donkey.
The park offers several shows daily with Sealions, Birds of Prey, Parrots, lemurs and Reptiles as well as a Camel Safari.
The park has three restaurants, with the Oasis restaurant and El Patio Majorero serving produce grown in the park’s own vegetable gardens. Oasis Park is also host to a local artisan and farmers market every Sunday from 9am until 2pm and has its own garden centre.
