How to get to Butihondo and Esquinzo from the Airport

Take the FV-2 south from Fuerteventura Airport towards Morro Jable (Esquinzo and Butihondo are about 6km east of Morro Jable). Drive south past Caleta de Fuste, Gran Tarajal, Tarajalejo and Oasis Park, before joining the new section of motorway (Eje Norte-Sur) that bypasses the centre of Costa Calma. Follow the motorway south and take the Butihondo exit, then at the next roundabout, keep an eye out for the signposts which indicate directions for most hotels. The journey takes about 80 minutes. By Bus

There are no direct public buses between Fuerteventura Airport and Esquinzo or Butihondo (the number 10 bus stays on the motorway to Jandia). However, you can get the number 3 bus to Puerto del Rosario Bus Station (timetables), and then the number 1 bus from there to Ezquinzo/Butihindo (timetables). The entire journey costs €11.15.

By Taxi

It costs around €90 for a taxi from the airport to Butihondo/Esquinzo (it’s 76km from the airport), so it’s the most expensive option. There are, however, plenty of taxis, and it’s usually the quickest option.

By Airport Transfer

Booking an Airport Transfer offers the convenience of being dropped off right outside your Hotel, and is the cheapest option (a transfer to Esquinzo costs as little as €10.50 per person). You can also book a private bus if you are a larger group. This is a much more economical than paying for several taxis – and is even cheaper than getting the public bus!
