Access to Tindaya Mountain to resume this Autumn
Fuerteventura’s Cabildo is to reopen access to Tindaya this Autumn following the installation of informative panels and path signposts on the south side of the mountain. Access has been closed since the failed attempt to steal a 60kg rock panel, containing four ancient podomorphs (carvings of feet), in 2011.

Body found in Butihondo
An autopsy has revealed that the body of a man found dead in the Barranco de Esquinzo in Butihondo died by violent means. The body, which was in the early stages of decomposition when found, was discovered on Tuesday the 2nd of February by a passing Foreign Citizen.

Sustainable Energy Subsidies
The Cabildo are offering following subsidies for the installation of Solar panels and Wind generators in homes; €1000 for the replacement of Electric or Gas boilers with Solar Heaters; €2000 for the installation on Photovoltaic panels for domestic use; €2000 for the replacement of lights in small and medium sized enterprises and €3500 for the installation of Air and Solar generators in agriculture. The closing date for applications is the 15th of October.
