Motorway to open between Matas Blancas and Costa Calma
The section of Motorway between Matas Blancas and Costa Calma will be open by the end of 2015 according to Ornella Chacón, the Canary Island Government’s minister for Transport and Public Works. The Costa Calma Bypass and the new motorway section between Costa Calma and Pecenescal will follow. All of these roads will eventually form part of a motorway linking Corralejo with Morro Jable.
 

New Air Connections
Arke (Tui Holland) will begin flying a new route connecting Fuerteventura with Eindhoven from the 22nd of November. The flights will be on Thursdays and Sundays.
Novair began operating a new route connecting the island with Oslo on Monday (28th of September). Vueling have also recently announced that they will commence twice weekly flights from Paris starting in May 2016.
 

Fuerteventura, Germany’s favourite Canary Island
A recent study by German Price Comparison site, Check 24, has revealed Fuerteventura to be the number one choice in Holiday Reservations in the Canary Islands amongst Germans and second most popular destination in Spain after Mallorca.
The study analysed bookings between the 29th of June and 14th of September 2015.
 

Rare Spider to stop work at Villaverde
A rare species of Spider, Maiorerus randoi (a type of Harvestman spider endemic to Fuerteventura), has prompted the Cabildo to order the suspension of works at Casilla Costa in Villaverde following a complaint from environmentalists. They allege that the works are affecting the nearby Cueva del Llano, where the endangered spider lives.
