Gran Tarajal to have DNI and Passport Office
A second DNI and Passport Office for Fuerteventura (which is also where foreigners can apply for a NIE or Residency) is to open in Gran Tarajal at the Casa de la Cultura on Calle Paco Hierro. Previously, both foreigners looking to obtain a NIE or Residency and Spaniards wanting to renew a passport or DNI had to go to Puerto del Rosario.

Cabildo proposing 1 euro fee to visit Isla de Lobos
The Fuerteventura Cabildo is studying the possibility of charging non-residents (of Fuerteventura) a 1 euro fee to visit Isla de Lobos. Any funds raised would be used exclusively for the conservation programs on the small island.

Increase in Easter Week Flights
Fuerteventura Airport received 61 more flights during Easter week 2016 than during Easter week 2015. Most of the extra flights were from additional Easter-week charter flights from Germany and Mainland Spain as well as new regular flights from Scandinavia. In total there were 224 flights, with Ryanair having the largest share with a total of 31. It is estimated that Hotel occupancy ran at 98% over the Easter Weekend.

TV Series to be shot in Fuerteventura in April
A new German-American TV series by Paramount entitled “Berlin Station” will be shot on the island this month (April). The series stars Richard Armitage, best-known for his role as Thorin Oakenshield in the Hobbit movies, as well as Rhys Ifans and Michelle Forbes. The plot centres around a newly-arrived CIA agent in Berlin, charged with uncovering the source of a leak. It is due to air in Autumn 2016.
