Pink Panther Heist Items Recovered
Guardia Civil have recovered stolen items worth more than a million euros from the Pink Panther robbery in Jandia on the 8th of September. The operation, codenamed Jefazo (Big Boss), has, so far, resulted in the detaining of two members of the notorious gang.
Butihondo Dump to be Closed and the area Restored
The dump at Butihondo Barranco is to be closed, sealed and restored at a cost of 2.3 million euros. The dump is located in a protected natural space and has drawn the attention of the European Commission. The works will be co-financed by the European Regional Development fund to the tune of 85%.
Sun Express to offer 17 flights per week
For summer 2016, Sun Express will offer 17 weekly connections between Fuerteventura and the following German airports: Cologne (Monday and Friday), Dusseldorf (Wednesday and Friday), Frankfurt (Friday), Hannover (Monday and Friday), Leipzig (Monday and Friday), Munich (Monday and Friday), Nuremberg (Monday and Friday), Paderborn (Monday and Friday) and Stuttgart (Monday and Friday). Thomas Cook have also announced that they will increase winter capacity by 15%.
Womad Fuerteventura 2015 takes place this weekend (5 – 8 November) on the beach at Gran Tarajal with 24 diverse acts from four continents. The festival is expected to attract between 13,000 and 17,000 people and includes notable acts such as Asian Dub Foundation.
